Weekly Themed Schedule & Details

All campers will be separated into AGE APPROPRIATE groups (ages 3-5 & 6-9) and rotate through the following stations. Water breaks are frequent as well as shade breaks for the campers to cool down. 

Phoenix Sports does NOT REQUIRE campers to participate in any rotation. Campers are allowed to participate in any rotation so long as that station is open and staffed.

Mad Science Mondays: STEM Based

Campers will engage with instructors and learn about chemical reactions and scientific phenomenons that happen in the lab and in nature. Campers will get a chance to create and experiment with common items to create mad scientist concoctions, rockets, volcanoes, and much more! 

During the first part of the day, campers will engage and create fun mad science experiments/projects that will be followed up with additional experiments/projects in the second half of the day which will help build upon the knowledge they developed from the earlier first project.

Tie Dye Tuesdays:

Exactly what it sounds like, Tie Dye! During the first part of the day, campers will rotate into the tie dye station, where campers can pick between a t-shirt, pillow case, or a tote bag and work with coaches to tie dye their item.

During the second part of the day, after their items have dried, the campers will get a chance to use kid safe fabric paint to paint on top of their amazing tie dyed item and/or create another project with tie dye and paint. 

Wacky Wednesdays:

Exactly what it sounds like! Activities will be EXTRA WACKY, campers may come to camp dressed up in wacky clothes and/or bring wacky items from home for a show and tell. Coaches will run sports activities with wacky twists that get kids moving in scenarios that are not normal.

During the second part of the day, campers will get a chance to build wacky forts with creative STEM fort building kit. Campers will get to build forts, engage with building materials, and explain their designs.

9:15 - 9:25 - Separate into Age Groups

9:25 - 11:30 - Sports & Specialty Rotations

11:30 - 12:10 - Lunch, Free-Play

12:10 - 1:00 - Field Games

12:30 - 1:00 - Half-Day Check Out

1:00 - 1:45 - Coaches Choice Stations

1:45 - 2:45 - Art & Sports Rotations

2:45 - 4:00 - Sports & Specialty Rotations

4:00 - 4:50 - Field Games

4:50 - 5:00 - Clean Up & Check Out

Our Philosophy: 

Phoenix Sports is owned and directed by Coach Doug, who holds a multiple subject credential in education with over 9 years of classroom experience with grade TK-3.

Coach Doug was also a previous Carlsbad Unified PE instructor at Kelly Elementary. Our curriculum focuses on the whole child while promoting sports skills and developmental life skill through fun activities that coach the fundamentals, teamwork, confidence, socialization, and communication.
