Happy Helpers Leader Board
A positive, inclusive, camp-wide system that celebrates effort, kindness, and community.
At Phoenix Sports, we believe kids grow best when expectations are clear, encouragement is consistent, and every child feels seen. Our Happy Helpers Board turns this into a fun, gamified experience—designed to motivate without pressure, celebrate without comparison, and build a community where every camper can shine.
Below is a detailed breakdown of how points, badges, and daily recognition work so you always know what your camper is working toward.
😍 Why Parents Love This System
- It’s inclusive—every child gets a fresh start daily and weekly
- It reinforces kindness, safety, joy, and participation
- It celebrates effort, not perfection
- It gives shy or quiet campers ways to shine
- It helps kids go home excited to share what they earned
- It teaches responsibility, social skills, and teamwork through a fun, gamified structure
🎮 How the Happy Helpers System Works
Campers earn points throughout the day for helpful actions, positive choices, participation, and practicing our Five Promises.
They can earn and lose points, but always in a fair, private, and supportive way.
Coaches award points:
-
During activity transitions
-
At breaks
-
At daily wrap-up chats
Every point is explained clearly so campers understand why they earned it and how they can keep growing.
Coaches will never call out a child publicly for missing or losing points. All feedback is handled privately and respectfully.
🏆 The Five Promises (Up to 3 Points Each Per Day)
Every camper aims to practice our Five Promises. Coaches give points when these behaviors are observed naturally—especially when done without reminders.
Practicing Our Five Promises 🏆
| Promise | Points | How Campers Earn |
| We promise to be good listeners | +1 per instance | Following directions, responding when spoken to, listening during instructions |
| We promise to be kind | +1 per instance | Helping peers, encouraging others, sharing equipment |
| We promise to be safe | +1 per instance | Safe movement, using equipment correctly, making safe choices |
| We promise to play games | +1 per instance | Joining activities, staying engaged, trying new skills |
| We promise to HAVE FUN | +1 per instance | Positive attitude, enthusiasm, lifting the energy of the group |
Max per day from Five Promises: 15 points

⭐ Gamified Daily Recognition: Day Leaders
Each day, the top two campers in points become our Assistant Coaches for the next day.
They’re given:
- A special Assistant Coach badge
- An Assistant Coach shirt to wear (returned at end of day)
-
Small responsibilities like helping set up cones or choosing warm-up games
This encourages leadership, confidence-building, and responsibility—without creating pressure or competition.
🎁 Treasure Chest Rewards
Any camper who earns 5 or more points in a single day gets to visit the Treasure Chest at pick-up and choose a prize.
This keeps motivation high and celebrates day-to-day effort in a fun, low-pressure way.
💬 End-of-Day Coach Check-Ins
At the end of each day, coaches:
- Share what points were earned
- Highlight great moments from ALL campers
-
Explain how everyone can earn more points tomorrow
No camper is ever singled out for missing points—feedback is always supportive and private.
