WEEK 1: Introductions & Ball Control Basics
Focus: Comfort with the ball, space awareness, listening to the coach
Skills:
- Dribbling with both feet
- Red Light / Green Light games
- Body part touches
- Freeze tag with a ball
Objective: Build excitement, learn names, establish structure

WEEK 2: Passing & Partner Play
Focus: Introduction to working with others
Skills:
- Inside foot passing
- Passing with a partner
- “Gate passing” challenges
- Team relay dribbles
Objective: Build early understanding of sharing the ball and teamwork

WEEK 3: Shooting & Goal Awareness
Focus: Kicking toward a target with purpose
Skills:
- Shooting with laces
- 1v1 shooting games
- Cone goals & target practice
- Goalie intro (just for fun)
Objective: Boost confidence in scoring and decision-making

WEEK 4: Defense & Shielding
Focus: Introducing how to defend and protect the ball
Skills:
- Body positioning
- 1v1 “keep-away”
- Steal the bacon
- Turning away from pressure
Objective: Teach balance between offense and defense

WEEK 5: Field Awareness & Movement Off the Ball
Focus: Playing with heads up and understanding space
Skills:
- “Find a new cone” movement drills
- Triangle passing
- “Open space” tag
- Moving after a pass
Objective: Encourage smarter movement and spacing

WEEK 6: Team Shape & Basic Positioning
Focus: Early positional understanding, not rigid roles
Skills:
- Divide into “defenders” and “attackers”
- Small-sided shape games (2v2, 3v3)
- Understanding zones (left/middle/right)
- Practice full team warm-up scrimmages
Objective: Prepare kids for team play in a scrimmage setting

WEEK 7: Scrimmage 1 – Tournament Game #1
Format: 20–30 mins warm-up + 30–40 mins scrimmage
Focus: Friendly competition, sportsmanship, applying all skills learned
Skills Refresher:
- Quick warm-up and review
- Remind kids of spacing, positions, and basic rules
Game Play: Coach Donald Duck’s team vs. Coach Giraffe’s team
Outcome: 1st tournament game result recorded

WEEK 8: Scrimmage 2 – Tournament Game #2
Format: Same as Week 7
Focus: Adjustments from Week 1 game
Skills Refresher:
- Team strategy talk (kickoffs, corner kicks)
- Communication on the field
Game Play: Second tournament match
Objective: Observe improvement in decision-making and movement

WEEK 9: Scrimmage 3 + Awards Ceremony
Format: Final game of the 3-week tournament
Focus: Celebration of effort and teamwork
Post-Game:
- Coaches hand out certificates with athlete names
- $20 prize bucket pick for all athletes
- Ice cream sandwiches & team photo
- Brief speeches from each coach
Objective: Wrap-up and recognition of growth and participation
